Ben LaVergne

As many of you may already know, Ben LaVergne has joined the staff at the Rob Noel Golf Academy, and is now working in the Club Services shop under Buzzy's tutelage.  Over the past year, his job has been learning the finer points of club repair, club building and clubfitting.

Originally from the Lafayette, LA area Ben was fortunate to have started playing golf at the age of 12. After moving to Mandeville in his sophomore year he joined the Fontainebleau High School golf team and was All District his senior year and competed in the state playoffs. After 2 years of college at Southeastern Louisiana and University of Louisiana-Lafayette, he entered the 2 year golf management program at the San Diego Golf Academy in Orlando, FL and graduated in December of 2006. Ben accepted an Assistant Golf Professional position at Money Hill Golf and Country Club in December of 2006 and worked there until joining the Academy staff.  He is currently in the PGA Apprenticeship Program and is proud to have won the 2008 Louisiana Apprentice Tournament Championship.

Ben has always had a tremendous passion for the game and the golfing industry as a whole, and feels his true strength is helping people improve their golfing skills.  Under the guidance of Rob, Chris and Buzzy, his ability to truly help other golfers has improved vastly as his understanding of club building, fitting and the golf swing has increased.  His goal, like Rob's and Buzzy's, is to help our customers play better golf.
